Installations for
“Myths of Tomorrow”

MDEFest 2026, “Myths of Tomorrow”, is the 6th edition of the festival organised by the Master in Design for Emergent Futures (@iaacbcn @fablabbcn), celebrating the projects of the MDEF students. The event takes place on the 18th of June 2026, at Elisava School.

The festival’s activities, ranging from workshops and panels to interactive installations, aim to promote future literacy, empower the collective force of creatives, and raise greater consciousness about the pressing urgency of the climate and social crisis.

02 The work

An installation made from rented scaffolding, mounted by us and designed so that it would stand stable and throw shade.

The idea was to recreate a sort of pirate ship, where the textile, all of it reused, could be opened and closed according to what we needed. At night we closed it. In the morning we opened it again.

03 Process

The idea came out of a lot of brainstorming in Rhino.

We mounted it in less than two days. It was amazing to work with all these people, from cutting the textile to arranging the place and putting up the scaffolding under the hot sun of Barcelona.
